Jacob, out of curiosity, how did UNO get the press to start calling them Omaha? It really is like U of Tulsa or U of Cincinnatti. They are UNO, not Omaha U or U of Omaha.

Summit league thing. Milwaukee-UW changed to just Milwaukee before they left as well. Fort Wayne, ect.

Smart move, IMO

No doubt a smart move, I was just curious how they got the press to call them that. Was it a press release to all media (OWH, radio, local TV, ESPN)? I just thought Jacob may shed some light.

Well, a lot of teams include a segment in their media guide about acceptable forms of their name. I know when I was at the OWH we still wen with UNO because that is what people were used to and it's easier. Personally, I use Omaha because that's what they want and I like the guys at UNO (which I still use when I'm not writing).

He's a scorer. I'm not sure if we were ever really involved out of high school but his scoring ability would sure be nice on this team.

Weird. He played a lot of minutes so this has to be something outside of basketball or he came to the realization about his head coach that everyone else already knew ( ;) dear Internet police, winky guy means tongue-in-cheek).
