Compared to a Duke or Kentucky. You could make the argument that if he is truly deserving of a lottery pick he should be able to prove that anywhere. Gonzaga is still a great program, but that prediction is definitely out of left field.
It's not really out of left field at all. It's one of the few schools he's actually visited (and the hope of taking official visits before he commits are all but off the table now) and Gonzaga currently appears to be running away from the rest of the pack this season (with the possible exception of Butler; too bad we didn't get to see that game). Gonzaga is one of the best programs in the country in terms of development and now with Suggs, Mark Few is proving that he can showcase a one-and-done talent as well. Suggs' success could help Gonzaga secure his high school teammate Chet Holmgren's commitment, and that could in turn help them with Sallis.
I've thought Gonzaga made the most sense for him for a while now as far as offering the best combination of development for the next level and winning in college. But we don't know how much he factors in things like location and relationships with the coaches.
