Biruta was close to signing with Altman and Fish before Altman left for Oregon. Word was he really liked Creighton, and Jays were at the top of his list. Dana left, Mac came --- so did Doug. Rest is history. Biruta is leaving Rutgers. Still good friends with Gregory who he went to high school with. Not sure we are at top of his list, but I would imagine we would inquire.

I'd be a little more optimistic if this announcement didn't come so shortly after his HS coach was announced as the new HC at RI

Wow, all this transfer news suddenly.....don't know if we are on the radar but he would be a great get as well. I assume he'd have to sit out next year so he wouldn't be able to play w/GE though, but he'd have two years of eligibility. Sounds like Rhode Island is a non-brainer but maybe he wants to win.

Things are tough at Rhode Island, where his high school coach is rumored to be bringing him.
