Bottom Line:
Zierden is a skilled, smart and competitive combination guard that at this stage of his game plays like a shooting guard. He can get to the rim and hit shots with range to the arc. He has the feel and IQ to help at the point in a pinch as well. He must get stronger but is a player that can put up very good numbers in addition to being a good enough athlete to defend both guard positions. Zierden has great upside as well.

From the StarTrib in MInneapolis

• The Howard Pulley Panthers are playing in the Peach Jam basketball tournament this week in North Augusta, S.C. Through the first two days of the tournament, the Panthers are 2-2, having defeated CIA Bounce of Canada and Mean Streets of Illinois while losing to All Iowa Attack and Mac Irvin Fire out of Illinois. Isaiah Zierden, who was a sophomore last season with Benilde-St. Margaret's and is the son of former Lynx head coach and Timberwolves assistant coach Don Zierden, has had perhaps the most impressive run through the first four games, averaging 19 points per game. Zierden also had a team-high 31 points in the victory over CIA Bounce.

Bump.

Zierden is having himself a great July. So far just Creighton, Wofford and Manhattan have offered but interest is coming from Cal and Iowa. All reports are saying Jays are looking for a PG in 2012 and while Zierden can play pointhe is much more of a 2 guard. He has been called the best pure shooter in the 2012 class. Would love for the Jays to take him!

I think we have to have a PG with one of the scholarships, but the remaining opening could go to the best player available. Zierden would seemingly be a fine addition.

Another possibility would be a big guy that doesn't mind redshirting.

Wow, this guy is a big timer in the recruiting world. Usually doesn't give mid-majors the time of day. Tweet:

I hope Creighton fans understand that Isaiah Zierden is one of the best shooters in America. Led the EYBL in accuracy. SNIPER! Love him

Wow, with guys like Dingman and Zierden for the next 4-5 years, we shouldn't have to worry as much about our outside shooting.. This is a great get!

Welcome Isaiah...

Great to have a 2012 recruit who wants to be here with us. It is nice to hear D. Telep say you are the (one of the) best shooter(s) in America.

That means (to those of you with funkitis) he will not miss as many buzzer-beaters as Nate did.

Welcome aboard and we are happy you're here.
