Who's Next

Postby fritzpointer » Mon Jun 18, 2012 9:21 pm

What make basketball recruitting so tough is knowing who you have a shot to get if you wait for them and who you don't. So if you wait for say a Martin or K. Harris or Fuller or Foster, do you have a good chance to get them? I saw that Darian Harris sent a tweet to Toby wishing him well at CU. Maybe Darian will be next. I think he would really fit this system well. Go Jays!!!

My guess is we take a wing next and we take one of our targets as soon as they are ready to commit....

Then we offer the dad scholly for either Foster or Harris if they so choose to become a Jay

So Nate Taphorn will take an official visit to CU very soon. Things are starting happen. This next 30 days should be full of action on the recruitting side. Merf. is on a roll so keep the mo going. So I wonder what Fuller is thinking? So what does everyone think , take the first 3 to commit and save 1 for Foster or K. Harris? It sure look like it's going to be a good class.

My guess is that the next two scholies will likely be either Taphorn or D. Harris and Chrabasz or Martin. Then, the dad scholie for K. Harris, Agau or Foster.

Who's Next: Darian Harris.

We best ship a lot of good old Omaha Steaks to these two. That said, I am very excited to be on the board with two kids the coaches really wanted!

Two very good players now are we in a holding patern or do we keep taking the first to commit?

Harris kind of reminds me of Avery....6'6" versatile offensive player in HS, but probably needs to put on strength and improve defensive quickness for D1 play.

Seems like we could use a slashing wing or a big bodied C...maybe both if the Doug scholly is in play.

roster for 2013-2014

Guards/Wings
Manigat(Sr) 6'1"
Chatman (Jr) 6'0"
Dingman (Jr) 6'6"
Johnson (So) 6'5"
Yates (So) 5'11"
Zierden (So) 6'1"
Harris (Fr) 6'6"

Front Court
McD (Sr) 6'7"
Wragge (Sr) 6'7"
Artino (Jr) 6'11"
Grocelle (So) 7'0"
Hegner (Fr) 6'10"

I don't think this class could have started off much better. You've got two guys already committed that were obviously on your A list. The "pressure" is now somewhat off and you shouldn't have to start down on your B or C list for a long, long time if at all. Particularly if you get one more commit before the summer is done. Then the pressure is completely off and you've got the luxury of using Doug's scholly to really go all out for a guy like Kendall Harris or Foster. If you get them then it puts this class over the top, if you don't then you've still got a great class full of guys from your A list.

Agree that this flurry of activity has taken the edge off of 2013 recruiting.

Hegner - Very good PF
D Harris - Surprisingly good guard/wing

I agree that we are probably looking at a 1st to choose between Chrabascz, Miller, Martin.
Hold the "Dad" for K Harris/Agau.
