Buckeye fans seem to think there is no room for Teddy. Apparently, they have like 3 SF/PF types signed for 2014 already. Anything new on him? Are we recruiting him?

I could hardly believe this guy was still around. Is he really worth taking a shot on?

Before WSU commit, Teddy proclaimed on his FB page that CU was his school. Problem was, CU had 0 chance of enrolling him. Dude can play and has a passion. Hates losing. Has had 3-4 minor scrapes with parking tickets, no insurance, etc. Sure Mac will vette him with Ill St.

To be fair it was a bit more than a couple of minor scrapes; his arrest last October resulted in charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol and driving with a suspended license, and then while awaiting trial for those charges he was arrested a second time in January of this year resulting in charges of driving on a suspended license and driving without insurance.

Reading up on this kid gave me a headache. His path from touted high school recruit to "grad" transfer is convoluted and, in some cases, concerning. Combine that with his troubled legal history, and this one might be a tough sell. Plus, other reports say that while he has backed out of his commitment to Boston College, they are still the frontrunner to land him. Just an odd backstory.

On the court, he looks like a contributor this upcoming season and might fill a need. Is it worth the risk? Is it worth the perception? I guess Coach Mac would be the final judge on that.

FWIW I know the staff (albeit a different staff than we currently have) loved Hawkins game and saw him as a priority.

Is the risk really worth the reward?

If we are in on him I guess Mac thinks so.

How does this kid still have more eligibility? He's gotta be like 25 years old.
