2014 Jalen Jones (SMU Transfer)

Jones was recruited by Creighton out of Kimball High as an explosive an powerful wing. Jones ended up at SMU b/c he felt comfortable with the past staff. With Brown there they never saw eye to eye.

Jones averaged 14.0 ppg and 7.7 rpg last season playing the 2-3 under Brown, and has decided to transfer at the end of this semester. He would have two years left, similar to the time Gregory Echenique had in which he would be eligible at December next season, which is exactly when a squad like Creighton could use him the most.

I have not confirmed any contact from Creighton to the player yet, just drawing connections based on past relationships and Jays needs going forward.

We don't have a scholarship to give at the semester.

duh - i clearly haven't shaken the sun morning fuzzy brain yet.

I guess he could sit out until the end of the semester and join in time for summer and fall.

I wish we could find a PG. With Chatman and Brooks both juniors we'll need one.

When Jameel McKay was transfering the Iowa board said he would go to Iowa State. Farmer Clone stated that the clones had no ships. Well thats where he is going so maybe there is a way. I know at the time we recruitted Jalen CU thought alot of his game, but we are in on so many good players for 15 I don't know how hard we will go after him now.

On the other hand, when we can have a 2 that posted a 14/7 line, and we might be needing some immediate punch, he could easily be the ticket.
