34% from 3 isn't great but it's not horrible. Just not what we are used to but he has a year to work on his game and learn the system.

+1 Don't judge by the standards of our team this year, which was an extraordinary collection of pieces that worked together. Plus, Mo has been bailing out his offense at the end of the shot clock. Teams that aren't used to Doug and Wraggebombs would gladly take that from a playmaker like him. And he gets a year in the gym with our staff.

According to Piv's article Watson said he saw the Jays play on Tv several times...Wait I thought nobody watched Creighton games on TV this season? But In all seriousness, talk about the perfect fit. This guy is going to flourish at CU. Can't wait to see him play.

Can we stop polluting this thread? We are all extremely excited to have Maurice join us. Let's just leave this thread for talk about his commitment and future as a Jay.

Exactly. I moved a few posts that delved into Big East conference talk back into the appropriate thread on the main board for organizational sake. Let's keep this thread on-topic, folks -- namely, Creighton's exciting new commit Mo Watson, not a debate on the merits of the Big East.

His 3pt % could improve but it's good enough....we won't be looking for him to shoot 7-8 threes a game, just to have the defense respect his ability.

Not sure if anyone else just listened to Mo's interview with Bahe, but wow. Came away totally impressed. He comes off as a player that loves to study the game, and someone who excels in the mental aspects of basketball. He was literally giving basketball analysis with Baha. Awesome. He also has a little chip on his shoulder and some lofty goals he is trying to reach. I'm not betting against him. Can't wait to see him in a Creighton uniform.

I missed the mention earlier in his recruiting that he was the son of a coach. So yes, he definitely fits the mold of our recent recruits - cerebral students of the game that put the good of the team first.

Only question. After articles on Wragge and Brooks this year (and the obvious KK reference from the past), how was his mother's game???

His interview with Bahe was good. Watson seems really bright and a real student of the game.

I really like the fact that he's a proven commodity at the D1 level and has been real productive for his Boston team. Very excited to hear about his commitment.

Welcome, Maurice!

The Jays's backcourt looks solid for the next few seasons. Now to develop more interior presence...

Watson's father is quoted as saying that one of Mo's goals is to "play in a packed arena."

Boston University's average home attendance in 2012-13 was 750. In 2013-14, it was 983. Even if Creighton's attendance drops next year, Mo should be blown away by the size of Creighton's home crowds.
