Aguek is a beast. I first saw him play in 8th grade, and his team was throwing lobs to him in the layup lines before the game. Had 30 and 18 without even trying. This past year, he started for one of the best teams in the state as a freshman and made his mark. Now he's tearing it up on a really good U15 AAU team, which led to the Nebraska offer.

His motor is his greatest strength at this point. He's so athletic and he plays so hard. He's a great rebounder and is dangerous in transition. His shooting touch continues to improve as well. He's playing PF at about 6'4" right now, so he'll likely end up as a SF at the next level unless he really shoots up.

Tom Crean watching a very talented Omaha under-15 team that made the KCs finals. Assume he's there for Arop.

Update:

Omaha Elite is your 15u @HardwoodKC champs. Beat Oklahoma Wizards 62-47. Jay Small with 16p 5a. Aguek Arop 14p 13r. Marques Wilson 13p.

I was down in KC for this tournament and caught all of Omaha Elite's games. D-Rock was there Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and Mac was there on Saturday.

From what I've been told, their primary interest on the team was Marques Wilson (who I liked better and better the more I saw him). However, Aguek played well as well and I'm sure they took notice.

G1: Wilson - 20 points, 6 rebounds; Arop - 11 points, 6 rebounds (easy win)
G2: Wilson - 18 points (4 3s); Arop - 1 point, 3 rebounds, 1 block (they won by 50 and it was over early)
G3: Wilson - 13 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals; Arop - 6 points, 2 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 steals (they won by 25 and I missed the first 14 points)
G4: Wilson - 9 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists; Arop - 12 points, 10 rebounds, 2 blocks (easy win; Elite threw an alley-oop to him and I have no idea how he got high enough to get the ball and throw it down but he did)
G5: Wilson - 10 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists; Arop - 11 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals (up big, fell behind late, Wilson hit a couple of clutch baskets to get the win)
G6: Wilson - 13 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals; Arop - 14 points, 13 rebounds (challenged early, pulled away for a 15 point win; big plays in the second half from both Wilson and Arop)

Tim Miles was there for the games on Saturday, and one of his assistants was there Sunday. Former Creighton staff member and current UNI assistant Erik Crawford was there all weekend, and Ben Jacobsen was there Saturday and Sunday. An Iowa assistant watched both games Sunday. UNO was there. Fred Hoiberg watched their semifinal game, though he sat in the stands instead of on the sideline with the rest of us.

Great unofficial visit today at Creighton University! Very nice facility there! #BlueJays"

Update:

Actually, it looks like Aguek, Marques Wilson (who they love) and Aguir Agau (Akoy's little brother) took an unofficial visit together today. They all play together on the same AAU team. Here's a story I wrote on Omaha Elite if you're interested:

I put the odds at 50/50 he changes his mind.

But nice pickup for the skers that's for sure.

Isn't this kid like a Freshman? Nice to see Miles working hard for verbal commitments out of 15-year old kids.

I'll raise you Justin Patton, Huskers.
