I would guess we are ahead of Providence, but based on what I have read elsewhere it would be a big shock if he went here. Sounds as if St. Johns and Minnesota both might be in a better position than we are.

“The visit was awesome,” he said on the Podcast.. “It shocked me. It was better than I expected. Everything was big…And the coach [Greg McDermott] is a cool guy, I like the coach.”

Without a doubt, it's down to SJU and us. If he doesn't commit on his visit to St. John's then you have to think we're in pretty good shape. The other article was just poorly written and seems like it was over text or something, I don't know. You can hardly call it an interview.

Sounds like his HS coach really wants him to stay home.

I've seen other quotes from his coach saying Creighton bball is king in Omaha and getting away to someplace like that would be awesome for Shamorie.

Parsing the tea leaves is bad for stress levels.

Ah..I don't really stress about it too much. Just like trying to read between the lines a bit.

Mr. Ponds would be one hell of a pick up for the Jays and where else can he play in front of 18K fans! :D

I think his HS coach is a master politician and takes the location of the writer into account when crafting responses to questions. 8-)
"But I truly care about Creighton and the fans and what they've done for me the last three years. I want to give them one more year and take care of business in the Big East so we can prove people wrong.'' ---- Doug McDermott

44 points
10 rebounds
10 steals
5 assists

I'm no statistician, but I don't think that sucks. Those are Laine Korver numbers.

And maybe the New York, "staying home" allure isn't as strong as some are guessing...

Though it is still early, Ponds is thinking that he might want to get out and explore when he makes his college choice.

"I wanna go far," Ponds told Rivals.com. "New York will always be there."

The kid would be back there at least 3 times a year. Mac can sell this.
