I'm no statistician, but I don't think that sucks. Those are Laine Korver numbers.

And maybe the New York, "staying home" allure isn't as strong as some are guessing...

Though it is still early, Ponds is thinking that he might want to get out and explore when he makes his college choice.

"I wanna go far," Ponds told Rivals.com. "New York will always be there."

Ok vivid, I can appreciate your post, good info. I only have one question for you. Is he short enough to play guard for Creighton?

Of course. He's the perfect guard size. 98.7% of guards in college basketball are 6'5" or shorter. In my ongoing quest to be right about everything, I spent the last few months plugging every D-1 college guard, in basketball history (going back to 1934) into a spreadsheet, to calculate numbers affirming my positions. The 98.7% number was the result.

Some other interesting stats from my analysis:
- The total sample size was 21,438 guards
- The average guard is 6'2"
- Surprisingly, there were only three guards, in college basketball history, who were 6'8" or taller.
- There were only 19 guards (out of 21,438), in the history of the game, who were 6'7".
- Only 1.28% were even 6'6".

So, yeah, Shamorie (which could become a real popular name in Omaha if he commits) is ideal guard size. The facts confirm it. They also confirm that Ronnie is an anomaly. Maybe that can be his nickname. "Ronnie the Anomaly" It's got a nice ring to it.

Oh, and if you believe any of the above is even remotely true, or actually happened, thanks!!

I'm lobbying for Ronnie "Too Tall" Harrell.

I've seen other quotes from his coach saying Creighton bball is king in Omaha and getting away to someplace like that would be awesome for Shamorie.

Parsing the tea leaves is bad for stress levels.

Ah..I don't really stress about it too much. Just like trying to read between the lines a bit.

Mr. Ponds would be one hell of a pick up for the Jays and where else can he play in front of 18K fans! :D

MSG :)
Thanks Bluejay Bilas for the "enthusiasm" I knew it was there somewhere.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ponds announced at the UA Elite game. That game has been used to announce commits the last 2 years or so.

He still has two officials scheduled. This is assuming that he's going to commit to Creighton. I would say there's probably a 99.9% chance he doesn't commit this weekend.
