IMHO

Grant Gibbs with pre injury athleticism and better shooting.

We're getting a good one.

Mitchell Ballock finishes at all three levels.
Steal for Creighton.

Ballock scores 22 points in a 62-58 loss tonight at the Jayhawk Finale.

Mitchell's final stat-line: 22 points, 7-14 FG (3-5 3FG), 3-3 FT, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 3 turnovers.

He only scored four points in the first half and sat out for what seemed like at least half the period. I asked him afterward if he was in foul trouble or if he knew why he never went back in (the other team went on a big run and took the lead even though Run GMC started out up 22-9) but he had no clue. I guess the coach forgot about him or something. Anyway, while he was in he looked more to set up his teammates than to score himself. Dished out at least four passes that could have been assists, although only two of them led to buckets. He's a really impressive passer, and one of the coaches told me he thinks passing is Mitch's best skill.

In the second half, he was much more aggressive and took over to pull his team within one possession a couple times. They were down 2 with 17 seconds left and put the ball in Mitch's hands, but the other team had fouls to give and used them. Run GMC ended up turning it over with 3 seconds left, so they never even got a shot up.

Mitch went 2-2 from the left corner and also hit a pull-up 3 in transition to pull his team within one. He also had three really impressive finishes in the paint, including an and-1. He rebounded pretty well. Tomorrow at 2, Run GMC is playing against Omaha Elite. I'll be there watching again, and if you're really interested in watching yourself, you can pay for access to this site which streams and archives the Jayhawk games: https://www.flohoops.com/live/1327-jayh ... tional2016.
