Davion Mintz, North Mecklenburg: 16 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists in a 65-50 win over Hopewell. It was his second triple-double this season.

For perspective, North Mecklenburg is a 4-A school, North Carolina's biggest class. They're currently ranked No. 2 in the Charlotte metro area, which has a population of over 2 million. So this isn't like a Nebraska D-2 level or something.

Several people have suggested his rating's going to be much higher at season's end. Those things seem to be determined more by summer AAU ball, so who knows? But I check his games every weekend to see how he's doing, and he was having a great senior season for a top team even before this eye-popping game.

Any idea about his season stats? I know he is averaging around 19 per game, but wondered what his shooting percentages looked like. Just curious. He seems much better than his rankings!

What's the general sense about Mintz going into next season? Will he contribute? Replacing one guy in Milliken from NC with another. I like it.

His shooting motion looks real good.

I dont expect too much playing time available at the two with Foster. If he and Albert can give Mo ten minutes of rest, that's probably the goal.

Davion probably won't see more than 5 mpg, behind Mo and Coop, but he should give very productive minutes. He's a highly intelligent guy and understands the game well. There will be some adjustment, but in playing "clean up" and spot play (barring injury to others) I expect 5 ppg/2-3 rbd, with around 45-47% efg. He should be in the conversation for FOY, but probably lacking overall mpg.

I would not be surprised if we get another '16 frosh (a big) - just guessing.

This isn't specific to Davion (who I'm even more stoked about after watching his looong highlight video in this thread), but the roster makeover we've witnessed over the last couple years and looking forward through the 2017 commitments is truly astounding.

For next year, we've got 2 potential NBA guys sitting on the bench right now in Patton and Foster to add to a great core of experienced players. We bring Davion in so that he can be groomed to take over in 2017 AND we get another year of maturity out of Harrell and Thomas who look like keepers.

In 2017 we bring in 2 very talented wing players to add to a young talented core (and Mac's not done yet).

I've never been more excited about the future of Jay's basketball and never imagined the amount of talent we'd get to watch on a nightly basis.

I, for one, am very happy with the job Mac is doing right now.
