Maybe he's been delaying this so long to wait and see if DePaul would hire his HS and AAU coach. Maybe Leitao said he would, and Bowen was waiting to see.

Unfortunately some of this is starting to make sense. I think it would be a mistake on Tugs part and a slap in the face to the big schools including Creighton.

Smart move by Leitao to hire Tugs AAU and HS coaches. He lost his son's drug dealing income and now has to pay his legal fees. This would be a bad time to get fired financially.

Well I guess Ben Simmons proved last year that you can play for a losing team and still be the #1 player taken in the NBA draft. That may not do much for Leitao's longevity or that of Bowen's high school or AAU coaches. I haven't heard if DePaul signed the scorer transfer from Howard. If Tugs commits to DePaul it will be interesting to see if he can convince the NBA he's Ben Simmons.

Fultz at Washington is another prime example of this. Didn't change their record one bit, left to go pro, still at square one.

Tugs is no Simmons. Unless he drastically improves his athleticism, I don't think he's a first round pick after 1 year of college.

I think Tugs ceiling in comparison could be like Justin Jackson of UNC.

Justin Jackson is considerably more athletic than Tugs, and he's not in the same stratosphere as Simmons. Tugs is a mid level five star. Some places have him ranked pretty close to a high 4 star. He is not the type of recruit who is a program changer on day 1. Can he immediately contribute? Absolutely. But man, if his plan is to go to DePaul with the idea that he'll be the main guy and his draft stock will skyrocket, I think he's going to be really disappointed.

Tugs isn't going #1 overall next year. Simmons comparison is way off.
