Marlon leaving and the super senior tradition..I count 2 schollies open...if we stick with the new tradition... Which I think we will. Any guesses who would give theirs up? My guess is Zierdan.

I don't expect anyone to give up their scholarship and walk on. That anomaly has sailed and isn't likely to happen too often at a school that costs as much as Creighton costs.

I disagree. How can you say it has sailed when we are currently in year 3....2 1/2? McDermott, Kreklow, and Groselle. I know Kreklow didn't give one up but passed on one to Nebraska It has not only paid dividends for the team....but also the player that gives up ship. I can see Zierdan doing it. The following year Hegner. Tradition.

Tradition?? WOW
That stuff is expensive. It is totally unreasonable for anyone to be expected to do that.
All 3 of the players you mention had a highly unique situation that allowed it to come to fruition.
Frankly I would be surprised if we ever see it again.

Tradition?! Lol what? It's not a tradition for a college athlete to pay 50,000 to give up his scholarship. We were very fortunate to have it happen the times it did. Shouldn't rely on it .

Highly doubt this happens again. McDermott's Dad has made millions, it wasn't a big deal for him to pay plus it also helped Coach Mac in his career to pay for his son. Groselle's situation was pretty unique too in that he actually has a better situation now than if he kept his basketball scholarship. Kreklow did sacrifice but I recall his parents saying that they'd saved for his college for years and then didn't end up having to use that money because he got a basketball scholarship so they had the money sitting there. It was just kind of a lucky three years, not any kind of tradition.

You guys dive deep into it lol. So serious about it. I can dream and hope....this is a message board. I think Z is a special situation just like Dougie, Rickie, and Geoffrey. Will it happen? I don't know...I just think it has been pretty cool, we have those type of individuals on the team that have been willing to do it.
