If he beats guys out...what is the issue? Competition is sport.

Young Kobe has yachts for feet - probably not done growing either. Competing at the SF spot will be fine and there is a possibility of actually getting PT. Not very likely at the SG - now or 2017.

His signing would be a dream come true and provide depth everywhere on the roster. Playing time will definitely become more competitive, but no reason Khyri can't slide over to the 2 occasionally to give Marcus rest. Any quality minutes would be icing and honestly don't know why he wouldn't want to be on a team that has a strong chance of making tourney next 2 years in a big conference. Hope the visit opened his eyes and he ends the visits and declares ;)

I just finished reading a number of articles that result in my conclusion the UCLA admissions committee decided this kid did not meet UCLA academic standards, even if he is qualified for most other schools and meets NCAA academic standards. Does anyone have a scoop why UCLA turned him away? He seems to have really good academic credentials. Seems odd.

New tweet from west coast recruiting guru:

Intel tells me Creighton in the driver's seat for a commitment from 2016 SG Kobe Paras (Middlebrooks Academy/LA Cathedral) #grassroots

Bossi saying he hears the same.

Interesting news. If I read it correctly, it sounded like he withdrew from UCLA summer school after being informed that he wouldn't be fully accepted. If he started classes there would he need to sit a year as a redshirt transfer?

According to the articles covering his situation, it seems that he had some sort of conditional agreement to begin summer school. It appears he was not yet enrolled until the Admissions Office had their say. They said no. The conditional provision should not affect 2016 eligibility, since he was never fully enrolled by the university. Or so it seems...stranger things have happened regarding HS recruits...we shall see.

Here is what I don't get. The guy is very quick, has hops, has a really nice stroke, but is only #141 according some silly rating (247 Sports). I read somewhere that he was recruited by over 50 schools, making me think he is seriously under-rated by 247.

Also, as the kiss of death, 247 shows Creighton having a 100% chance of getting this recruit. Their accuracy is legendary.
