I was projecting a top 3 in conference....this kid is talented. Watch his videos....my god. We have a shot at not only the conference title....but winning the whole thing. I'm trying to temper expectations...trying it's hard.

We've talked about his half-million followers on Instagram, and how the newspapers from Manila have covered him extensively since he was 13. But just how big of a deal is Kobe in his native Philippines? The decision on which school he picked has been featured on CNN Philippines' "Sports Desk" updates all morning:

SonofFrankTomera wrote:One thing that concerns me is that Kobe's mom, brother and dad are all actors, and it looks like Kobe signed with a talent agency in 2013. LA would be better for him if that's what he wants to do eventually, as no good actors have come from Omaha except for Marlon Brando, Nick Nolte, Montgomery Clift, Henry Fonda....( Fonda was born in GI, but I am claiming him as our own for the purposes of this post).

Clearly you're not familiar with Adam DeVine and Andrew Rannells.

I don't know much of anything about recruiting and I am always extremely skeptical of foreign players. Just look at UNL's supposed foreign "pipeline". Those in the know, how good was Paras's competition?

Excited to see Paras play!

He played in Los Angeles the last two years so I assume the competition is pretty good there.

Pretty good local director, too. Alexander Payne.
And also my neighbor Tom Elkins has worked as an editor, actor, and director on many big time movies as well. Shit I think I may have just outed myself!
John Beasley too.
And let us not forget "Granny" (Irene Ryan) from the Beverly Hillbillies.
