The Des Moines Register quoted Otzelberger saying it wasn't just the investigation, but a number of compounding issues that got him kicked off the team:

What I can say in regards to that topic is that it wasn’t one thing or a couple things that led to it. It was more of a culmination over time. Standards and accountability are important in our program.


According to the CycloneFanatic board, he was lazy and unfocused during his time there. And his foot injury can lead to more problems down the road. I would be surprised if he gets offers from any major conference schools.
