Jays growing increasingly interested in the 6-7 PF from Illinois who less than two months ago only held D2 offers. Versatile, late bloomer, good perimeter shooter was a PG until he grew 6 inches the last year. Watch this space.

Only one other P-6 school interested in the senior. Is he being recruited as a walk-on or the backup to the LL guys should we end up with two schollies open?

I think McD evaluating him as a scholarship player. Late-bloomer, 6-7 sniper. Has interest from Northwestern, Purdue, Vandy. Following the Patton rise I will give the benefit of the doubt to these coaches. Always good to go see these guys play for yourself than rely on rivals, scout, espn to tell you how good they are or are becoming.

I do trust this staff on evaluation but there have been whiffs. Patton was a huge hit but he obviously would've blown up by his senior year if Mac hadn't wrapped him up early. Bruniga's in his last semester and hasn't blown up. Nothing wrong with that if he's a true late bloomer.

i agree at this point I think he's still a stretch for an offer, considering we've got some very similar players we are hot on for 2018 that have the same skill set (Swider) and it seems unlikely Bruninga would be a role player from the onset of the 2017-2018 year. But yes always good to look.

I remember when I first read that we had offered a kid from Omaha North and he accepted on the spot.. my thought was "this staff doesn't know what they're doing".

Point is, I trust Mac, Murph, Lutz, DRock to get kids they think fit our needs and the culture of CU.

I'm surprised he hasn't been mentioned before.

Prephoops.com had this:

In his first game as a senior he went for 42 points and 22 rebounds against Peoria Christian. He backed it up Tuesday as they played a showcase game at the Tournament of Champions where he had 30 points. Wednesday he had 43 points. He kept it up post-Thanksgiving dropping 38 points and 16 boards on Friday followed by 33 points and 19 rebounds to close the week last Saturday.

We could use that kind of rebounding instinct.
