Pros:
He's not a guard.
He has actual basketball skills for a big man - 50% FT shooters can be demoralizing.
Experience/strength.

Cons:
He couldn't get minutes at Fordham (admittedly, as a freshman).

Every team needs that scrappy big guy, diving after loose balls, hitting the occasional THREE to pump up the crowd. The guy who doesn't fill the stat sheet, but whose value is much bigger than that - ESPECIALLY on such a guard/perimeter oriented team like Creighton. Let's hope Manny fills that role. Welcome!!

I think he can be a Zach Hanson type player for us. Similar size. Probably a bit better shooter than Zach.

If he can shoot 65% like Zach, I think we'll all be pretty happy.

Welcome Manny. Fills the need, the need for a wide-body big.
Welcome indeed. ;)

Manny is no Patton but I like this guy and I bet the fans will like him also. Gives us more size, better rebounding, better FT shooting and most important, more experience at the Center position. What is there not to like at this point in time?

He's a good pickup. We needed the depth and there will be plenty of minutes at the 4/5 to go around. I'm no convinced that Harrell can play big minutes at the 4 against anyone who isn't a stretch player like him, and Hegner will likely be needed at both spots.

So getting a bigger body to give us time for Epperson to develop and for Martin to get more comfortable is a very good thing

Here's a writeup on Suarez with a look at what he brings to the table for the Jays:

Gotta admit, he doesn't move like a 6'10 big man... Looks athletic and fluid for a guy his size.
