:o :o

Now I know it's a "highlight" video so we are only seeing the positive but that is pretty impressive for a big guy. He is going to love his year with the Jays playing in front of a packed house at the Clink. :D

I think 240 looks closer to his actual weight than the 220 that was earlier reported, that's a plus. I really like his footwork and vision. Their will still be an adjustment to the athleticism of D1 and the Big East but he will be (to borrow someone else's criteria) "serviceable." Get him in the weight room now.

I will say that second highlight video is a lot more impressive than the first one posted in this thread.

Wow. He looks very light-footed for a guy that size

Agree that he will have an adjustment period, but Manny appears competitive and will have early opportunities (CBE Classic) to gauge his status and get a good idea of where he needs to improve his game.

Looks like he can shoot the 3 ball a little too. He averaged roughly six 3-point attempts per game last year. Definitely won't be the case playing for CU, but he'll have the green light on trailer 3's like Patton did.

5.4 pts and 2.3 rebs per game

that was what we got out of Zach last year in about 10/min game

I'd like to see Manny up the rebound avg and maybe squeeze closer to 12-15 min/game out of him - and that should be doable considering the three headed monster approach i expect out of C (w Toby and Martin getting some time at the four)

but - he's got the body that should provide the physical post presence that we really are lacking

if he can do that - and run the floor hard - he'll be a success

The first comparison I thought of upon seeing his highlights was Zach Hanson. Same size & height pretty much. But, Suarez has more skill and range than Hanson it appears. So while people will look at a D2 signing as maybe laughable, I think we got a pretty good pick-up. Hell, who knows, he might be an improvement over Patton when it comes to rebounding and an interior presence against the likes of Angel Delgado.
