Husker faithful are trying to play this as though they "beat out" Creighton for Xavier. After Marcus Z committed in early Sept., we were obviously no longer interested in another point guard and I'm sure that was conveyed to Xavier. I guess they need their victories since they can't win on the court!

Sad, if u look at the timeline its obvious that we dropped out once Z committed. He no longer took his visit here. Washington also got a PG so they dropped him as well...

GT got a PG commit as well, hence Xavier cancelled his visit there last weekend.

It appears he chose the huskers by default.

The kid may end up being very good, but THIS is so true. Husker fans claiming they beat out Creighton for Xavier Johnson are delusional.

Creighton was high on him, bu they were higher on Ayo Dosunmu and Marcus Zegarowski. Always nice landing one of you top targets at a position of need.

Johnson became Nebraska's top target after most of the other highly touted guys they went hard after chose other schools. Johnson is a big pick-up for them not only because he's talented but because I'm not sure where they would have turned next.

As for Nebraska being the only one left, it seems like Georgetown still doesn't have a point guard committed in that class.
