2021 PG Chucky Hepburn (Bellevue West, Wisconsin Commit)

Sun Dec 24, 2017 10:41 am

Freshman point guard scored 40pts in a win this week for the T-Birds over Westside. Have to imagine Mac and others have been in contact. Would be awesome to see him on the Hilltop.

This kid is the truth. He's already around 6' or 6'1" as a freshman, and if he can keep growing (his dad's not a tall man and he's already bigger than his brother who is a year older) that would certainly help his prospects. He's a three-level scorer already (which is rare for anyone, let alone a freshman), is great at drawing contact ad getting to the free-throw line, has a scorer's mindset but has the vision to play PG for sure and is a solid on-ball defender.

He's the best player in the 2021 class by far and is well worth keeping an eye on. He certainly has high major potential.

In the 2020 class, there are a couple kids with potential but Chucky looks like the next local kid most likely to end up with a CU offer.

6 foot as a freshman PG is very enticing. When you saw him live could you get any sense as for how his body might develop over the next few years? Does he have a good frame? Someone on the husker board said that he plays like an adult. If he has good physicals he could become a very desirable prospect

We've had good luck in the past 15 years with point guards from Bell West

His dad is very strong and physical, so he should have a solid physical frame as he grows.

His family is all big Miami U fans, so I can't imagine him being excited by Husker red if he gets offers from any major schools instead. Hopefully, anyway. I'd love to see the kid playing major college ball, and it'd really suck if that was in a red uni. Would be awesome to see him as another link in the Omaha/Nebraska big blue chain.

Please tell me we've offered. Starting freshman PG leading his team to the state title game today. He's going to get lots of offers so why not be first?

Another article in the OWH on Hepburn's season and recruiting. He specifically stated having an interest in Creighton (and Oregon). Hopefully there's a CU offer this summer.

It's a little early to be offering. He's just a freshman. He still has a ways to go to be a Big East-caliber player. If he doesn't grow any more (which is possible considering he's already taller than his older brother and his dad isn't a tall man), it could get dicy. Shooting has to continue to improve.

If there's anyone who should offer his summer, it would be Omaha. Creighton's playing it the right way - keeping an eye on him, staying in touch and gauging his progress.
