Iowa rivals board is saying that the Jays will play them at Iowa City next year. Does anyone know if that is true?

Yeah, wow. That kind of came out of nowhere, didn't it? If true, hopefully it's part of a home-and-home that brings the Hawks to Omaha in 2013.

Here's the original thread over there that fritz alluded to.

This better be a 1 for 1. If not , I'd lose a lot of faith in our scheduling tactics. I'm not against 1 and dones but it better be against a top 10 team and on national tv. NOT Iowa.

I can't imagine this is accurate. Maybe that's our closed door scrimmage for this year?

I'm not buying it either. Unless it is the opener, I'm not sure where it would fit in.

I can't help but think that the Iowa fan was looking at last year's schedule....

The last post or couple in that thread seems to indicate that it's a closed-door scrimmage around the 27th of October.

As our friend Matty P would say, "I can confirm this". They will be playing Iowa in a closed door scrimmage.

So it seems like we're not going to complete the home-home with Loyola-Chicago from BracketBusters a couple years back? Im only asking because I'm a student there and as a Jays fan I would love to see the us come play.....would kill our SOS though

According to the chart at the White and The Blue Review, it will be 2014-2015 season. It will be a good time to come back and see your campus. That is as long as you havr graduated by then.

Well at least one of the CU basketball teams will be facing a BCS team to open the season...

After listening to the Banter interview with Merfeld, he didn't sound overly confident that they'd be able to get what they were looking for in an opening weekend opponent. I guess there's always a chance that something could fall into place, but I wouldn't hold my breath on it either.
