Where does this squad fall in the Valley?

Justin Patton
Toby Hegner
Khyri Thomas
Malique Trent (left TCU)
Nick Norton (at UAB)

Bench:
Zach Hanson
Kain Harris (at Tulane)
Martin Krampelj
Deonte Hawkins (at Illinois State)
Matt Milon (at William & Mary)
Darian Harris (at Oral Roberts)
Ezra Talbert (at Liberty)
Tre'Shawn Thurman (at UNO)

think this a fairly reasonable assessment of where our roster would have looked like without the impact of the Big East in terms of resources and expanded recruiting. Does this team compete with ISU-red or WSU?

1. Who cares, we're in the Big freaking East.
2. Probably right up there with Wichita. Patton and Khyri would be the best players in the league by far, but a Norton-Trent backcourt isn't as good as even ISU-reds.

I still go thru Valley withdrawals the first week of march. Bud Platinum's help a little with the symptoms but still get the shakes today.

I care, Hilltop.
I'd be a little sauced right now if we were still in the MVC

I hear ya. I love (most) everything about being in the Big East, but I miss Arch Madness dearly. The Friday of the tourney always makes me sentimental. That was one of my favorite days of the year.

Meh... Those memories are very similar of remembrance of going to state in high school (the competition level is probably about the same, as well), cute and nostalgic.

Arch Madness was great, for a bevy of different reasons. I miss the reunion of my CU friends the most.

Just out of curiosity, have any of you been to the Big East Tournament in NYC? It is pretty awesome, to say the least. It goes without saying, MVC and BET are completely different experiences. BET is definitely expensive, which is certainly a downside, but I'd really encourage Jays fans to try and get out there and experience it at some point. Especially the general basketball junkies. Nothing quite like seeing your team take the floor at MSG. Goosebump city.

Alas, Friday of MVC was special. Not trying to dismiss it.

PS Obvious, but should be mentioned – NYC >>> STL

First place. Khyri, Patton and Tre'Shawn?! Give me that.

Additionally, Hanson and Hegner would be very good against competition such as the MVC. Against the Big East they're merely serviceable.

I don't want to say "never", but I highly doubt I will ever go to NYC for the BET. I can think of many things I would rather spend $3,000 on. St. Louis for Arch Madness was ideal.
