Wichita St to the AAC makes it more likely that a rescheduling of a rivalry happens?

Good Call, and good for them. They were going to die in the Valley whenever Marshall left. Would love to get them on the schedule.

So who does the Valley find to replace WSU??? Omaha would be a perfect fit but they just joined the summit not too long ago. Does the Valley eventually fold?

Why would Omaha jump into that sinking ship? I doubt they could lure Omaha away. That's how far the Valley has fallen, would get turned down by Omaha.

I'm not sure if the Valley folds, but you have to think Arch Madness is dead. The Valley has to be one of the biggest victims of realignment. It's sad.

Here's a pretty good run-down of the Valley's options:

Dark days ahead for the Valley. The league itself isn't going to fold, but I wouldn't be surprised if the conference tourney moves when the current contract with the Scottrade Center is up. No one else in the league travels in big enough numbers to make it viable.

Sad fact: Of the nine current members, the only two to play in an NCAA Tourney game in the last decade are UNI and ISU Blue. UNI is the only team to have won a game in that span.

Its sad. They are a low level one bid league now. Conference champ may get a 13 or 14 seed annually.

I'd expect the Valley to go after Valpo or Murray State. Would love to see UNO go though sometime in the future.

I always remember Mitch Holthus referring to the MVC as the Renaissance Conference. They have quickly gone from that back to the dark ages. I wish them no ill will and hope that the conference can and will survive but a far cry it is from 5 years ago. And as fun as it would be to have Omaha join the conference, I just don't see that happening. You have to figure they want a more "heard of" name before they give Omaha a realistic shot.

I work with a guy who used to be involved in the radio broadcasts for UNO (he's also a UNO grad). He has remained close with coach Hansen and he told me a few weeks ago that UNO is looking at moving to the Horizon league. According to him, it's only a matter of when not if.
