Good luck to Coach Lutz. Great coach, even better person.

I would imagine Preston moves into the recruiting director's role. Opening a spot on the bench. One name likely available is Alan Huss, former La Lumiere HC and current New Mexico assistant. NM recently hired a new coach and Huss could be looking for a new opportunity. Could be a nice homecoming.

+1. Good luck to Coach Lutz, except if we are playing Purdue.

Wasn't Lutz with Mac at Iowa State as well? Probably a good friendship and tough separation but a likely pay raise. Good for him.

Coach Lutz joined the staff from SFA (Steven F.Austin) in 2010. Predominantly known for his Texas recruiting, but had an extensive connections network. Gonna miss him.

The Lutz Texas pipeline seemed to have dried up after initial success (Groselle, Chapman, Foster, Gilmore). It is obvious that our recruiting horizon has risen, as the staff seems to target only Top 150 guys. Maybe it's harder to get a 4* Texas kid who has his pick of schools to look at an East Coast centered league. I think Mac will go after a coach with strong Chicago/St Louis AAU ties as that is where many of our 2018 and 2019 targets are at.

I wonder if Ben Walker will get a look, it would be nice to have him back in Omaha.
