KenPom projections are out. He's got the Jays at 18-12 and 9-9 in the Big East, tied for fifth with Butler. Three non-con losses (at NW, vs UCLA, at Gonzaga). Greater than 80% chance of victory in all other non-con games.

In the league, three wins are essentially tossups (50-52% chance of victory): Providence, Xavier, Seton Hall all at home. No tossup losses.

That'd be an interesting resume come March if it plays out like his models envision. No marquee wins out of conference, .500 record in the league, but six wins over Top 50 teams in conference.

Young team with lots of talent but lots of question marks makes me think we probably won't be that middling. It will probably go much worse or much better than that, and I'd lean towards much worse with our open ball-handling questions.

As the box score indicates from the Minnesota game, The Jays are going to need much better PG play. If Joseph doesn't come thru, (he didn't play) the Jays could be in for less than a NCAA berth.

I'm telling you guys, a team with Marcus, Khyri, Toby, Davion, Martin and Ronnie is not going to be less than NCAA. We have more talent top to bottom than any team in the history of this program. These guys were down Four at half and lost by twelve AT Minnesota, a probable top 10-15 team with a lot of returning contributors. And we did it with only two returning starters with less than a month of practice. Yes, we need to get some consistent guard play, and there are a few guys we can't afford to lose to injury. It will take a few games for our very talented freshmen to settle in. But barring injury, we are going to have a very good season. Those fellas are not going to accept anything less.

Ready for your perusal is the 2017-18 Creighton Men's Basketball Viewing Guide. Hopefully this is helpful. This year I added a section just for the cord cutters out there.

#11 best backcourt in the country

11. CREIGHTON: Marcus Foster, Khyri Thomas, Davion Mintz, Kaleb Joseph, Tyler Clement, Ty-Shon Alexander, Mitchell Ballock: Marcus Foster will put up all-american numbers this season and Khyri Thomas may actually be the single-most under-appreciated player in college basketball, but until we know the answer at the point, Creighton will have serious question marks

According to that article we may be in good shape overall.
In the frontcourt article out today, only Minnesota, Seton Hall, & Nova are mentioned (of teams on our schedule). That's a promising slant as well.

We play in regular season 7 (with 4 at least twice) of the other top 19 backcourts (not including the exhibition against Minnesota). That is impressive.
