Here's the Pregame Primer for tomorrow's game. Terrible opponent to face coming off a big blown lead; CU has blown double-digit leads at home two years in a row to these guys and lost at the buzzer both times. Gotta step on their throat in this one if they get a lead.

Providence is a game that always concerns me. We won 2 out of 3 last year, but lost 6 of the first 7 we played them in the first 3 years in the BE. Cooley is a great coach who always seems to get the most out his players year in and year out. This seems like a must win game. I see it being a very close game, but we pull it out by 6-8 points. My gut tells me Foster goes for 25+ points.

Vegas line is CU minus 8 1/2, not a bet I want to touch.

Game day. New Year's Eve. Sold out. Conference home opener. Quality opponent. Dollar Beer Day! But, apparently, we needed a little more than all that to land on the front page of the hometown paper's sports section. We just couldn't bump the coverage of tomorrow's Peach Bowl or yesterday's Liberty Bowl (which didn't even feature anybody from the Big 14).

But, wait. The WH created a second Sports front page! (It's right there on page 3). And, by God, there we are, with our very own "Big East home blahs" story squeezed into an upper corner. They had to wedge it in to make room for the full color, almost life-sized pic of a nebraska guy, who last played on Friday and doesn't play again until Tuesday. So, for everybody thinking maybe today's game might be kind of big, evidently our local paper would encourage you to think again.

It's at home against a struggling team and kicks off a stretch of four winnable games. Lose this and I worry about a deeper swoon.
