Here's a piece I put together on WBR about Kalk's third straight DPOY award, with a bunch of stats from his amazing season and quotes from coaches around the league.

I'd love to see the vote breakdown on this. I thought there was a good chance of co-POY this year.

Other awards:
COY - Dan Hurley
FOY - Stephon Castle (unanimous)
Scholar-Athlete - Oso Ighodaro

Hard to argue with that. I’m glad it wasn’t Newton

It's weird for POY to go to the 7th place team but honestly hard to argue that Carter wasn't the POY. Dude hit so many shots vs us this year that you just gotta tip your cap to.

I have little problem with the idea that Carter played to a POY level — but hard to believe they give it to somebody whose team is playing on Wednesday and finished bottom half of the league, especially when there were very deserving guys at the top too. Really felt like a sure fire co- POY year.

I didn't think the coaches would actually give it to him, but he's every bit deserving. I can't imagine how bad this Providence team would be without him on the roster.

I'm just glad that Newton didn't get it

Probably would be missing the NCAA tournament and playing on Wednesday afternoon. Oh, wait . . .

True, but from the Big East games I watched this year he was the best player in the league this season. They are a 9 or 10th in the BE without him and not sniffing an NIT.

More deserving than Newton for sure. Still feel like Baylor had the better Big East conference season than anyone, but Carter is a great player. Relentless.
