I sure hope Shaka doesn’t see the Celtics coach trying to block a shot:

Seton Hall seems to have little interest in playing this game. The energy level seems very low.

Kadary as first team all big east continues to be laughable.

They won. In OT. Underwhelming effort but Dawes made shots late.

The showing by BEast teams in the NIT is disappointing by losing 4 out of 5 games with the only win coming in overtime. I figured Seton Hall and Nova would dominate but I as wrong. I'm hoping S.H. wins the championship.

NIT is a lot like bowl games. Some teams care and some don't. Impossible to tell before the game who's actually excited to play.

And again -- performance in the NIT, especially now that it has been so changed in structure -- has little or nothing to do with thinking about how those same teams might have performed if they had gotten into the NCAAT. Not only is it very different getting them motivated, the stakes are so different, players with an NBA or even big NIL future have good reason to not play at all or to not risk injury by going all out, they are played on home floors in front of empty seats a lot, etc.

In the past, when Creighton has been in the NIT instead of the NCAAT, I always loved going to those games. Hell, I loved going to the CBI / CIT games. But that was because I am an absolute diehard who loves every single chance to watch my team play, no matter who or where. But then a huge part of the equation for the team, coaches, etc., was that it gave extra practice time and a chance to do things to build on for the next year. With the portal, NIL, etc., the whole equation for anything other than the NCAAT (and even there at times) has just so dramatically changed.

It's tough to know. I wish they'd come out and blast some teams because they were angry about the slight, but it's a tough turnaround after the conference grind and tourney, and then only a day or so to switch gears and get ready to play the NIT game (often on the road in front of an empty stadium).

I think SJU was the team that got screwed the most by the Committee, but pretty much any of the BE teams left out on the bubble would have looked better than Virginia did this week

Nice win for Seton Hall. Richmond still looks like he doesn’t care and Adde-Wusu is hard to figure but the rest of the team wanted to win and gave a good beating to North Texas.
