Let it fly! Jays are complete underdogs on the road against the #1 team and defending national champions. They can win this, but not if they lay bricks. Going to need to hit shots. Go Jays!

UConn's record of 5-1 looks pretty damn good... until you really look at it.

Best win? by 4 over St John's in Hartford.

Bad loss? to Seton Hall by15 in Newark

Otherwise wins over DePaul, Butler, Xavier and Georgetown. Pretty much the bottom of the league?

No doubt, but every team in college ball this year has had ups and downs and has some warts when you look hard enough. It's just what we get in this era of NIL/Portal talent flowing, and teams working in new people

That said, this is a winnable game. UConn deserves to be favored, but if we have a good night we should have a chance

Not really. An overtime loss to Nova and a 5 point loss to Marquette at Marquette are not the same as a 15 point loss to Hall.

Their Overall Adj SOS in Kenpom is 107. Ours is 28.

Their Non Con SOS in Kenpom is 295. Ours is 65.

Those don't look very similar to me either. Maybe you know something I don't?

I know you'll come back with something, but I don't get the argument here. Is it that they're overrated? Yeah, they lost to Seton Hall by 15 on the road. Seton Hall is 5-1 in the league. That's not a "bad loss", it's a Q-1 loss. They're certainly beatable, and they't not as good as last year (imo), but anyone can cherry pick stats and analytics to fit a narrative.

We lost to UNLV by 15, who's hovering around 90 in Kenpom and the NET.

UConn has 4 Q1 wins. We have 2. They're 3-0 vs Q2, we're 4-2.

At #1, yes, I think they are overrated, overall. But I'm looking mostly at BE play... which I think is more significant to look at at this point given the circumstances. And when I look at that, they haven't really been tested, save for the Hall and St John's games... Which they lost by 15 at Hall and won by 4 at home against St John's. I think our schedule of Nova, Marquette, Providence and St John's has prepared us better for this game. The difference is gonna be them playing at home... which is basically a 1.5 possession game.

Having said all that, we could easily go in there and shit the bed. It happens. But I'm just not convinced that UConn is as formidable as I think others believe. Again, I could be wrong. And I'll eat crow if they blow us out.

Just hoping we are the team that showed up against St John's... with better 3 point shooting.... Like our average for the year... 36% or 10-29.

Just saw that it's $2 Miller Lite Night tomorrow at Gampel. Looks like Creighton's influence on the Big East is spreading
