Less surprising for a recently unemployed coach to take that gig versus someone like Bobby Hurley leaving an existing job for it, I suppose. Still seems like a dead end job, though.
A bit surprising as I think Holtmann still has a pretty good reputation as a coach and could likely land quite a few jobs.
May indicate that DePaul is willing to spend money and commit to being better
Also, Wiki page still lists Ohio State, but the search page in brave search says "current head coach at DePaul"
hmm
"Christopher Adam Holtmann (born November 11, 1971) is an American college basketball coach who is the current head coach at DePaul University. Holtmann grew up in Nicholasville, Kentucky, and started his college playing career in-state at Brescia College in Owensboro. Wikipedia"
Probably good for the conference to not have DePaul be an annual bottom feeder, but still, don't want them to add another really tough game to the schedule either
Also looks like @osuhoopsinsider is reporting he will be the next HC at DePaul
