That’s not the same, respectfully.

Battling for that might mean 35. Or 40. Because the difference between that and top 25 is only 1-2 wins.

The problem with a rebuild year is kids will transfer out. You are only (unfortunately) recruiting for 1 year at a time with NIL dollars

Agree with the premise that there shouldn't be a total rebuild under the current transfer rules. There will be 5 to 10 (or more) leaving, whether transfers or grads, most years, so it's a matter of identifying the next years needs and getting those kids. I would say Ashworth was an even trade for Nembhard (after the adaptation period). Roster management is no different than it used to be, it's just more accelerated and immediate. Identifying talent might even be easier after watching players doing it at a higher level than high school. I trust Mac and staff have a handle on it and will be successful. So, I'm not lowering my expectations going forward.

there may be years where we just lose too many people in a given year to the pro level to be top 25, but I think most years the goal is a floor around .500 in the Big East and up to competing for the title. I think that's reasonable, and given that we've managed to only be below .500 once, and at .500 twice, I think it's an achievable level for us as well. Even .500 in the BE is probably top 40 to 55 or so in Kenpom

Best of luck to Fred! Seemed like a really good kid. I wished it would have worked out for him at Creighton as I loved his size, but he just seemed mostly lost on the floor.

He just didn’t progress. You’d think playing against someone like Kalk in practice very day would have led to some improvement that just never materialized. Hope he finds a good landing spot. Wanted to see him succeed.

Always thought he would be great. Played really well when Kalk was out with mono last year. I think the lack of minutes due to Kalk playing hindered and progress for him. Best of luck to Fred, will be rooting for him.

He needs to play in simpler offense and defensive systems. Remember he's only been playing for a few years and it just isn't clicking for him

But will always remember his effort in Iowa game this season and his solid production last year when kalk was out.
