This is a crazy story. Everybody knew Bowen's recruitment was fishy as hell, this confirms that and adds a lot more. If any of these assistants roll over on their head coaches (very few NCAA assistants are making six figure bribes on their own), this story could get truly crazy. With Nike and Adidas involved, there's got to be records somewhere - if the FBI finds them, half of college basketball could burn down.

Am I missing something here? I don't see any reference in that article to Louisville or Bowen.

I put this in the Tugs thread on the recruiting board earlier, but here's the actual paragraph from the indictment:

Jim Gatto, director of global sports marketing for Adidas Basketball, was among those arrested. He's accused of helping funnel approximately $100,000 to the family of an "All-American high school basketball player" to secure the prospect's commitment to a school Adidas sponsors. According to documents, the prospect committed in June. The only "All-American high school basketball player" who committed to a school Adidas sponsors in June is Brian Bowen. He's now enrolled at Louisville.
