Interesting how a lot of facts were left out of 8-months of OWH's "reporting."

As is the case in 99% of rape trials, it all boils down to who the jury believes in a he said / she said regarding what happened behind a closed door with only the defendant and alleged victim in the room. Attorneys can wrangle over what happened leading up to that moment all they want, but it all comes down to testimony regarding the exact moment in which only two people in the world know what happened.

Unfortunately, it is human nature to feel empathy towards a woman who is claiming rape, and the (almost universally male) defendant starts out with a major disadvantage.

Um, why is it unfortunate to feel empathy for a woman who claims that she was raped? Because a player from one of your favorite sportsball teams is the defendant?

Because a trial verdict should be 100% rational decision based solely on evidence and 0% an emotional decision. I know that is theoretical because juries are made of human beings, but the state via a rape complaintant has an overwhelming advantage from the onset.

Everywhere outside the courtroom it is 100% appropriate to have empathy for both sides.

Has nothing to do with sports. To be clear, Mo is an innocent man until proven otherwise. That's not my standard, that's the legal standard. Needs to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

There are numerous examples of male athletes having their lives ruined by false rape accusations.

It's very difficult, these days, to know who's the predator and who's the prey.

what do you mean? it's a constitutional right to be given a fair trial. the problem does not lie with the people who take their issue up in court, rather with the people who immediately demonize a person (the accused) after allegations come out. false accusations have become more common, yes, but so have the number of reported rapes in total. it's very presumptuous to even imply, at this stage, that the alleged victim knowingly made a false accusation

It's unfortunate to feel empathy towards a woman saying she was raped? What the hell is wrong with you?
