An obvious observation, but NIL and transfer rules have turned mid and low majors into the minor leagues for top programs. It will be so difficult for the Valley and others to retain quality players. Couldn't imagine the frustration of watching the Jays lose Korvers and Funks and Bufords to high majors each season. It seems like their hope now is to enjoy one season with a star who just happens to blow up.

So either Nebraska or Creighton, right?

Most speculation seems to be Wisconsin to join Chucky Hepburn. Shatel wrote an interesting column this week. He said UNO put together the largest mid-major NIL package for FF. So, who knows, maybe he stays put at UNO. He is announcing on Gary Sharpe's radio show, and he is the long time voice of the Mavericks.

Update: On a WI site, it says Gary Sharpe already knows where he will be attending and that Fidler "does not want to drift very far from home." Interesting comment since he is visiting Michigan State this weekend.

Not too sure about these “contact lists” anymore. I think an agent will say “Creighton contacted” even if a brief call, text or whatever to make it look like their client is in high demand.

The lists kids release with their top 4 or whatnot are much more interesting for us.

I am not moved by either of those dudes. I understand we aren't going to replace Trey and how good he is with a transfer, but man. It's early still, but :? :? :?

Next season is a transition anyway. I am ready to roll with our top recruiting class, along with Ashley, Miller, Green, Traudt - even King, and watch the youngins learn to fly. A good backup PG who can play 10 without sucking would help, but isn’t mandatory. If Kalk doesn’t come back, I think Green makes a huge step knowing he’s the guy. Otherwise, spend some scholarship money and NIL without breaking the bank on some guys who can be challenging practice players. I just don’t see a lot out there that are likely attainable who are better than what we have.
