I get that it's an all-star game, but everyone is going for the flashy play and White Team is turning it over and giving Purple Team highlight reel dunks. Patton is finishing better than any of the other bigs on White Team and it isn't close.

Two more impressive dunks in the last minute by Patton.
I wish we could see him really go after a few blocks against these better athletes, but it's an all-star so I'm obviously asking for too much.

Comically inflated stats all around, but Patton's 17 points in 19 minutes on 7-9 shooting (with 1-1 from 3) and 2-4 from the charity stripe, 4 boards, 3 assists and 2 steals looks impressive to me. Only 4 guys scored more points than Patton (Adel, Grandstaff, Mitchell, and Bryant), and they all played 20 or more minutes.

Having only seen him against honestly less talented Nebraska kids, I was looking forward to how he performed tonight. Sure, defense was at a premium but he was impressive out there with a couple flashy dunks, a few good post moves, and even a 3. He was by far and away the most mobile big, too. My only disappointment was the lack of defensive intensity, but considering it's an all-star game and nobody was playing defense, I'll let it slide.
I'll repeat what I and other posters who have seen him have said, he has so much potential. He could make huge strides once the staff gets their hands on him in June.

Interesting Twitter conversation among some basketball recruiting analysts about who is the best NBA prospect in the 2015 Big East recruiting class. Clint Parks (AAU coach for Huff) said he thinks Patton has the most upside of any player signed to a Big East school in 2015. A number of well-known recruiting analysts chimed in. Consensus is that Ellenson probably has the biggest NBA future, but Eric Bossi said this:

"I would still go with Henry Ellenson there, but Patton a potential NBA prospect for sure"

And Evan Daniels favorited this tweet:

"Justin Patton has all the tools to be a special college player and beyond. Has to put in the time; if he does his ceiling is scary."
"Feed him 'til he burps" - Doug Gottlieb on Doug McDermott.

I think Justin saw some of this too on twitter. Seems like he ready to get to work at CU.

#45 in the final Rivals ranking for the 2015 class:
https://rivals.yahoo.com/basketballrecr ... ton-165323

If he lives up to that and just one of the Stewart, Krampelj, and Thomas group exceeds expectations, the 2015 class of 4 year guys will end up being pretty nice.

FWIW, Stewart did not make the final Rivals 150, after some earlier talk that his stock might make such a jump. Plenty of mixed reviews on Stewart's game, but I hope he's at least capable of being a solid Big East backup PG.

Up to 66 in final 247 ratings:

http://creighton.247sports.com/Season/2 ... ll/Commits
They still don't have anything for Krampelj, and neither Thomas nor Stewart made their final top 247. Thomas is 300 in their composite and Stewart is 326.

But if nothing else materializes, Patton + Foster + a potential role player or two = a pretty respectable recruiting year.

well - considering that we still don't know jack about martin - hard to expect that the services would

and i think that a lot of the non-elite prep school kids are similar

plus thomas fills a role

can't wait to hear about the new guys in summer league
