By quite a bit, actually. Earliest previous exhibition was on October 26 (2017 vs UNO) -- so nine days earlier than any previous game. It's also just the fifth October exhibition.

Long-lost footage of the infamous buzzer-beater that shouldn't have been. I'm sorry. A DVD of the in-house scoreboard feed from this game was in a box of old game footage I acquired recently, and since I had to relive it, I figured others should share in my misery ;)

I was there. It seemed pretty obvious to me the shot was late but the refs including Higgins were pussies who weren’t about to waive off a shot by the home team without any video replay available.

I recall Higgins asking Shatel whether there was any evidence of the shot and when informed that there was and that they blew the call he was bummed; no doubt not bummed that he missed the call but bummed that he was proved wrong. Sort of like the criminal showing remorse after the guilty verdict not because he did the dirty deed but because he got caught. I’ve always held a small grudge against Baywatch.
I don’t vet ‘em, I just post ‘em.

I was there too, and couldn't believe that their excuse was b/c the game wasn't televised they couldn't do a replay. There was absolutely no chance that he had enough time to catch, turn around, and launch the shot.

I also can't believe that ISU beat us at CHI a few years ago. That was the night Caleb Grill, who at that point in his career, hadn't done anything, went off and hit 4 tough 3 pointers.

I think it was because there was no monitor at the scorers table, not the lack of TV coverage. I was there on press row that day and have recollection that they showed the replay once on the video board, Mac pointed to it in an attempt to get Higgins to look, only to be told the rules didn't allow them to use the video board for a review.

Since it was Iowa State's gameday staff running the tech at the arena, they didn't show the replay a second time just to be safe. Anyway, I hadn't seen it since 2010 and put off watching this when I found the DVD because I knew it would piss me off. I was right :D

Home-and-home series with Gonzaga announced. First game in Spokane on Tuesday, November 11, and a return game in Omaha in 2026-27! Per Jon Rothstein on Twitter:

The NCAA's first-contest date this season is Monday, November 3. So this will likely be the Jays' third game of the year, assuming they play buy games on the 3rd/4th and then another game on Saturday.

WOW! I have been waiting for us to play Gonzaga for years! I had also been dreaming somehow some way Gonzaga would make its way to the BE. But this news is fabulous!

Sweet. Closest Creighton game for me since I moved here in 1986. I couldn’t make the game in 2017. I will be there.

Me, too, if schedule allows. Love Spokane. Daughter #1 is a Zag grad. Had a nice visit with Fr. Spitzer last fall. Very good scheduling.
So long Valley, hello big time.
