In my head, I was thinking he’s a shooter. Watching his video, he’s much more than that. The talent in Omaha is as good as it’s ever been.
O'Connell is probably the best physical comp in terms of size, frame and vertical pop, but I do think he has better feel for the game and a chance to be a better shooter, which is where the Baylor comp comes in I think. He didn't shoot it well on the EYBL this spring and summer but shot 39% on over 400 attempts during his first three years of high school.
Creighton's really excited about him. They made him a priority early for a reason.
