I would mow their field for less than that! I bet he makes a lot more after this, from Murray State or someone else!

Can someone explain what is being built w softball and baseball.
I get the softball field.
How does the baseball field help? Was TD not available all of the time? Is it abut lockers and storage of equipment? Is it the 5 minute drive? Is it expandable to add a few seats if they want to at some point?
There appears to be a new building between the new baseball and softball fields. What is that for? I thought the Rasmussen Center was big enough to take a full infield inside?

II thought the same thing initially looking at the pic, but that “building” is the front of the baseball concourse, seating, press box. The field point the same direction at TD which is opposite of the softball field. The Jays will continue to use TD for games. This will be for practice initially, but maybe games in the future?
My brother and I used to say that drownin' in beer was like heaven, eh? Now he's not here, and I've got two soakers... this isn't heaven. This sucks! Bob McKenzie

As for “how does it help”, one thing they mentioned is it being a turf field to allow for practicing when there’s bad weather

As it all unfolded, I thought it was a brilliant play by Creighton’s administration to use the need for a new stadium (to benefit the city and the College World Series) enabling them to solicit the need for state money. However, the real advantage to Creighton was that this morphed into closing Burt St through campus which then led to the recent development announcement of the quad/green space surrounded by the dorms. I think that is going to be awesome for the university.

As long as the turf is better than what they had on the old on campus field, then ok. I am guessing most of the guys who played in the 80s and 90s on that turf are limping around now in their 50s and 60s. After only a little running on that turf back then, my then 20 something knees hurt. (obviously, turf has improved since then)

That is regarding the CWS teams. It helps them because they had some grass practice fields in the past is my understanding.

It’s my understanding that most games will be played on campus, except for big games like the Skers or Military Night.
