Swartz and McAndrew knocking down three threes is a very nice way to start the season.

Jays up 45-39 at halftime. Shooting 50% from three.
Not sure what we’ve learned. Game seems to be played at exhibition intensity and arena seems mostly empty.

Solid half. Good three-point shooting and seeing increased disruptiveness/aggresiveness on D, though with a few breakdowns. Would like to see some more post looks for Oswin. Need some inside game to keep defenses honest. Solid start with good things to build on and some areas to improve in.

I suppose blowing a 19 point second half lead will give Huss some good teaching opportunities.

Well, good tape for the coaches. Rough near collapse at the end. Still not sure about the Swartz shot ruled a two toward the end; would have liked to see a replay, but ESPN was not big on showing replays much today. Good stuff from Harmon despite going cold at the free-throw line at the end. A little under a week to make some improvements for our home exhibition.

Katrelle played Great, Much better than BJ . He is going to be a great player in the BigEast.
We are much better than last year that is for sure. Was hoping to see King play.

My takeaways:
Katrelle looked good. Relaxed, under control and not afraid to go to the rim. Decent size. Didn’t look like a freshman.
We have certainly moved away from the “we aren’t going to foul people” mantra. Don’t mind that at all.
Rebounding is still suspect and still softer in the paint than I would prefer. Would like to see Oshwin be a little more physical.
I need to study the roster a bit. Kept getting confused as to who was who among the new guys. Jason’s haircut confused me too.

I imagine Huss is quite happy to have this get close versus having the Jays win by 20. So many more coaching opportunities with adversity versus the kids having a big head about a lopsided win in a meaningless game.

We’ve got a really good one in Harmon. He’s got great height for a PG, and he seeks out contact.
